Letter From The Founder
Dear Visitor,
Deciding to get treatment for an eating disorder might single handedly be one of the most difficult things you do in your life. From my own experience struggling with an eating disorder, I understand the fear involved in admitting you need help and having to put your career, school or whatever else in your life on hold to receive treatment. However, this decision can also be one of the most rewarding, allowing you to get your life back, and to live it to the fullest.
My life has profoundly improved from the treatment I have received by allowing me to successfully address the issues underlying my eating disorder. However, finding the right treatment plan was not easy—given the variability of programs, the lack of sufficient information, and the fact that the effectiveness of treatment is dependent on how well a program fits an individual’s needs—it took several expensive and time consuming rounds of treatment at different facilities before finding an effective match.
Because I understand how critical yet difficult it can be to distinguish between treatment centers, I have created Project Free from ED to help you identify and differentiate between treatment options easily and quickly to find the best treatment option for you. I’ve taken into consideration all of the challenges I faced in my own search for treatment as well as the issues encountered by many other patients I have surveyed. I also understand how difficult the initial steps in finding treatment can be, and I hope Project Free from E.D. makes it even a little bit easier. Congratulations on your first steps to recovery and Breaking Free from your E.D.!
